Last season, it took the Phoenix Suns until December 13th to win their fifth game of the season. Now, they have done it by November 4th.
Equally important, this Devin Booker kid is the real deal. Undeniably, Booker was the best player on the court. He outscored Ben Simmons 40 points to six, and this was the move that sealed the eventual 114-109 win for Phoenix.

Then, he got the “M-V-P” chants from the home crowd, which isn’t something that can be taken seriously often for a Suns crowd.

Obviously, Phoenix and their 5-2 start should have people more than excited. Remember, they are without one of their key players in Deandre Ayton; who is currently suspended the first 25 games of the season for a PED violation.
However, they still have Devin Booker. Along with his trusty sidekick Ricky Rubio – who had ten assists on the night – a lot of scoring possibilities open up on the floor for Phoenix.
So far, Booker is averaging 23.8 points per game. Already, he is known as a guy who can drop 30 and even 40 like on Monday night against the opposition. Finally, Booker is shooting a career best 47.1 percent from long range in the 2019-2020 season, including 3 of 4 from that range against the Sixers.
For every giant in the NBA that grabs all the headlines, there’s a nice little story emerging of a new upstart team and rising star. Right now, the Suns and Booker just might be that team to keep an eye on in the early going.
