Last we left our Survivor contestants at the Malolo Tribe, a switch gave the old Naviti alliance a five to four person advantage. Naviti was facing tribal council and with Chris at Ghost Island, Domenick, Morgan and Wendall were ready to vote out a threat. Domenick and Wendall voted for Angela, but were Survivor blindsided when Morgan was sent home. Morgan had the legacy advantage and willed it to Domenick.
There are 17 players left on Day 9 of Survivor — who got voted out tonight?
At the Naviti Tribe, Domenick asks what happened and he and Wendall apologized to Angela for giving her their vote. Domenick and Wendall go off to talk and realized how bad their situation is — Angela is mad at them, Chris is still gunning for them and nobody is trusting them because of this blindside. Domenick confesses to Wendall that he has a real idol to help both of them figure out what they are going to do now. Domenick finds out that he was willed the legacy advantage by Morgan. Remember that there are 17 people left, but the legacy advantage is only allowed to be used when there are either 13 or 6 people left in the game. So now he has an advantage and an Idol. Domenick talks about having to undo these curses. Hopefully, he won’t go home with both in his bag.
Come on in guys! Today’s race reward challenge is for a little taste of home — peanut butter and jelly and milk. The game? Grab the ring and get back to your pole to score a point. Chelsea sits out for Malolo. Michael and Brendan (Malolo) take on Chris and Wendall (Naviti) and Naviti scores for the first point (1-0). Next, Angela and Laurel (Naviti) taking on Jenna and Kellan (Malolo) in a very physical battle for the ring, but Angela touches the pole first and takes a 2-0 lead. Bradley and Sebastian (Malolo) take on Domenick and James (Naviti) and Naviti can win it here. Sebastian gets to the ring first and launches it to Bradley. The push-pull on the ring takes place and Bradley touches the pole for Malolo and their first point (2-1). Desiree and Stephanie (Malolo) take on Libby and Laurel (Naviti) and Naviti has the edge, but will they pull it out? Jeff yells out “Watch the neck!” and this round gets extremely physical. Libby reaches for the pole but fails to make it and with another huge leap, Libby touches the pole and wins it for Naviti and their hard-earned peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
The choice for Ghost Island goes to rocks and, as Malolo reaches into the bag, Kellyn calls “rocks” her biggest fear on Survivor. Wouldn’t you know it that she draws the white rock and gets sent to Ghost Island. This time, she’ll be back in time for the immunity challenge.
When Kellyn gets to Ghost Island, she hits the ceramic pot and it says “Game on. Follow the fire.” She is to play Game of Chance. If she wins, she has a secret power advantage in the next game. If she loses, she will not vote at the next tribal council. Kellyn decides to keep her vote for the net tribal council and not play the game. Will this decision haunt her down the road and become one of the worst decisions of her game? Who knows? She says she’s trusting her gut as she has done changing her life, her marriage and her job. We’ll see if her gut is doing her right or wrong.
Naviti chows down and Chris finds out from Angela what happened. Chris decides to flip to the other leftover Malolos and split the vote with Domenick and Wendell. Laurel and Donathan talk about the fact they like Wendell better than they like Chris, so she goes to talk to Domenick and talks about working with him and Wendell. So now, Laurel, Donathan, Wendall and Domenick are willing to work together to get Chris out.
It’s time for the immunity challenge — come on in guys!
For this challenge, the Survivors have to swim out to a bamboo cage, swim under the water and untie a door, drag a chest to shore by dragging it across the track. They have to connect a missing piece of the track and once they reach the finish they have to shoot the balls to the top perch. The first tribe to do it wins immunity. Naviti is losing time trying to get the door and Chris comes up saying he can’t get his hands under it. Naviti finally gets the door released, but Malolo has a big lead, although in this game that means nothing. Naviti has one problem after another on this task, while Malolo starts tossing balls. Right now Malolo is blowing out Naviti, who finally gets their track together and moves forward.

Unbelievably, Naviti has a huge comeback and gets all five balls up on the track to beat Malolo and win immunity. The game can turn on a dime for any reason.
Back in Malolo after their loss, the mood is somber, but Bradley talks about how it’s fantastic because he has a plan to stonewall the original Malolo four tribe. Stephanie tells Bradley, “I want to stay,” and he says “We shall see.” Brendon and Michael’s names are coming up. Bradley calls him “a dad who gives terrible pep talks.” Bradley wants Michael, and everybody seems to be playing along. Remember that Michael has James’ original idol. The four are gunning for Bradley and hope that when Michael pulls the idol out at tribal council and tells them that he’ll play it for someone, but won’t tell them who, someone will flip.
Brandon and Michael start talking to the other members at tribal council to try to throw doubt around in hoping that someone flips. Michael pulls out the idol that offers double immunity.

Michael turns and says that the four of them will all vote Bradley — blindside! — and hopes that someone will flip.
Eeeek! I always get nervous when they whip out their idols before the vote 😬 #Survivor

When asked for a hidden immunity idol to be played, Michael pulls out the immunity and first says that he’s going to play it for himself and for Brendan and then says “wait, I’ll play it for Stephanie.” It’s NOT for two people. He did a great job convincing people it did.
The votes are read. Four votes Bradley — did anyone flip. Four votes to Bradley and four to Brendan. Brendan gets voted out. Nobody flipped and unfortunately, Bradley is safe. What a mistake. Michael should have played it for Brendan and Bradley would be gone. The idea was there, but he didn’t guess the right person.
Wow. I got tense on this episode. Brandon was my choice as one of the possible winners. Oh well.
