Tonight is Survivor Series, which is the last “big four” Pay-Per-View of the year. Since tonight features both Raw and SmackDown, we have three traditional Survivor Series elimination tag team matches, two mixed brand championship matches, and it is all topped off by Brock Lesnar vs. Goldberg. The WWE Universe is in for a lot of wrestling tonight, and if it’s anything like NXT TakeOver: Toronto last night, it is sure to be a good one.
Ariya Daivari, Drew Gulak, & Tony Nese vs. TJ Perkins, Rich Swann, & Noam Dar
To start the Kickoff Show is the Cruiserweight Division, which is sure to pump up the crowd. While all of these wrestlers are great athletes, some stand out more than others in this match. TJ Perkins was the former Cruiserweight Champion, Rich Swann seems to be first in line after Kalisto tonight, Noam Dar just debuted a couple weeks ago, and Tony Nese was recently given a WWE contract.
Rich Swann hits an always impressive standing 450 splash on Ariya Daivari to pick up the win for his team. Winners: TJ Perkins, Rich Swann, & Noam Dar
Kane vs. Luke Harper
Here’s another Kickoff Show to try to get the crowd energized before the main show. Kane has faced Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt over the past month, so it makes sense for him to face the third member of the Wyatt Family.
Luke Harper tries to use his agility to his advantage, but it didn’t stop a chokeslam. Yet again, Kane pins a member of the Wyatt Family. Winner: Kane
Team Raw (Charlotte, Sasha Banks, Bayley, Nia Jax, & Alicia Fox) vs. Team SmackDown (Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, Nikki Bella Natalya, Carmella, & Naomi) – Traditional Survivor Series Tag Match (Women)
This is the first of three Survivor Series elimination matches, where the women compete for their brand’s bragging rights. Before the match starts, Nikki Bella is found backstage after an assault from an unknown attacker. Since Bella couldn’t compete, Natalya (originally the coach) steps in to represent her team.
Eliminations: Carmella, Alicia Fox, Naomi, Sasha Banks, Natalya, Nia Jax, Alexa Bliss
After the elimination of Alexa Bliss, it puts Charlotte and Bayley at a 2-1 advantage over Becky Lynch. Thanks to the numbers game, Bayley hit a worn out Lynch with the Bayley-to-Belly to get a win for Team Raw. Winners: Team Raw
After the match, Charlotte immediately attacks Bayley and lays her out outside the ring.
Predicted Winners: Team SmackDown (0/1)
The Miz (c) (w/Maryse) vs. Sami Zayn – Intercontinental Championship
When Dolph Ziggler was the Intercontinental Champion a couple weeks ago, he issued an open challenge to Monday Night Raw. Sami Zayn earned this opportunity by defeating Rusev, but since The Miz captured the Intercontinental Championship on Tuesday, he faces Zayn instead.
Sami Zayn has the Figure Four Leglock locked in on The Miz, and Maryse rings the bell to make Zayn think that he won the match. During the confusion, The Miz rolls up Zayn to steal the win and keep the Intercontinental Championship on SmackDown. Winner, and STILL Intercontinental Champion: The Miz
Predicted Winner: The Miz (1/2)
Team Raw (The New Day, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Sheamus, Cesaro, Enzo Amore, Big Cass, and The Shining Stars) vs. Team SmackDown (Heath Slater, Rhyno, The Usos, The Hype Bros, American Alpha, & Breezango) – Traditional Survivor Series Tag Match (Tag Team)
Raw already has a win in these elimination matches, so it up to SmackDown’s tag team division to even up the score. If one member of a team is eliminated, is entire team is eliminated as well.
Eliminations: Breezango, The New Day, The Hype Bros, The Shining Stars, American Alpha, Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Heath Slater & Rhyno, Enzo Amore & Big Cass
The final two teams end up being The Usos against Sheamus and Cesaro. Jimmy Uso tries to break up Cesaro’s Sharpshooter on his brother, but Sheamus hits Jimmy Uso with a Brogue Kick. This gives Jey Uso no choice but to tap, and it puts Raw up 2-0 on SmackDown. Winners: Team Raw
Predicted Winners: Team SmackDown (1/3)
Brian Kendrick (c) vs. Kalisto – Cruiserweight Championship
Like the Miz, Brian Kendrick is also defending his title against the rival brand. However, if Kendrick loses the championship, the entire cruiserweight division also goes to SmackDown. This match makes you wonder why Kalisto wasn’t in the cruiserweight division in the first place.
During the match, Baron Corbin rushes the ring and attacks Kendrick, then hits Kalisto with the End of Days. Winner (via disqualification): Brian Kendrick
Predicted Winner: Kalisto (1/4)
Team Raw (Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns, & Braun Strowman) vs. Team SmackDown (AJ Styles, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt, Randy Orton, & Shane McMahon) – Traditional Survivor Series Tag Match (Men)
SmackDown can’t get the edge on Raw, but this win could help prove that they at least have a better singles division. However, it is still weird that they chose Shane McMahon to replace Baron Corbin as the fifth member of their team. He has to face four WWE World/Universal Champions, as well as the “mountain of a man,” Braun Strowman.
Eliminations: Dean Ambrose, Braun Strowman, Kevin Owens, Chris Jericho, Shane McMahon, AJ Styles, Seth Rollins
Randy Orton pushes Bray Wyatt out of the way of Reigns’ spear, and sacrifices himself instead. Wyatt takes advantage with Sister Abigail on Roman Reigns to give SmackDown their only elimination tag victory. Winners: Team SmackDown
Predicted Winners: Team Raw (1/5)
Brock Lesnar (w/Paul Heyman) vs. Goldberg
Goldberg returned to WWE after 12 years to have a rematch with Brock Lesnar. On top of that, this is the first (and possibly only) time Goldberg’s wife and son will see him wrestle in person. For Goldberg’s sake, lets hope that this match ends better than Lesnar’s match against Randy Orton at SummerSlam.
Goldberg immediately hits Lesnar with two spears and a jackhammer, defeating the Beast Incarnate in about a minute. Winner: Goldberg
Predicted Winner: Brock Lesnar (1/6)
