Super Bowl champion offensive lineman T.J. Lang announced his NFL retirement on Twitter, saying: “For the past 3,624 days I have woken up with one goal in mind-How can I be a better pro football player than I was yesterday? Well, those days are over now. The only thing I ask myself today is how can I be a better husband, father, son, brother, friend.”

According to sources close to ESPN, the Dallas Cowboys’ Pro Bowl cornerback Byron Jones underwent hip surgery on Wednesday but the team is hoping he will be ready for the training camp.

Knicks shut down Ntilikina (groin) for season | ESPN
Following aggravation of his groin injury earlier this week, the New York Knicks decided to shut down Frank Ntilikina for the rest of season as they don’t want to risk anything in the remaining seven games. The groin injury had kept Ntilikina off the court since January 25 but he did return and logged 25 minutes in the loss to the Denver Nuggets. However, he aggravated the injury two days later against the Los Angeles Clippers. Frank ends the season with averages of 5.7 points and 2.8 assists per game in 43 games.
Frank Ntilikina re-aggravated his strained groin muscle on Sunday and the medical staff recommended that he miss the final two weeks of the season, the Knicks say.

AP Source: California hires Mark Fox as new head coach | Associated Press
The sources confirmed to AP that Mark Fox has been hired as the California Golden Bears new head coach.
Fox has been without a job for a year after Georgia fired him after nine seasons. There were rumors that Jason Kidd was the leading candidate for California job, but the Golden Bears opted for Fox, who has a 286-176 record in 14 seasons as coach at Nevada and Georgia.
Sources: Mark Fox is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach at Cal. Former head coach at both Georgia and Nevada. Barring something unforeseen, he'll be the Bears' next head coach.

Sources: Huskers in talks to tab Hoiberg as coach | ESPN
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, discussions between the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Fred Hoiberg remain ongoing for the school’s head coaching job. The former Chicago Bulls coach is the most serious candidate to take the role after the team fired Tim Miles earlier this week following seven seasons in Lincoln. Sources told ESPN that there is confidence an agreement could be reached before next week as the 46-year-old has been interested in coming back to college basketball.
