Tampa Bay Rays – New York Yankees Preview – 09.11.2016

In the last of a four-game series between the New York Yankees (76-65) and the Tampa Bay Rays (59-82) at Yankee Stadium, Luis Cessa (4-0, 4.07 ERA) and Matt Andriese (6-7, 4.58 ERA) take the mound. The Yankees won the last game 5-1, extending a seven-game winning streak. New York can finish out the series sweep with a win in this game. The game starts at 1:05 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sep. 11 and will air on YES and SUN.

In his most recent outing, Cessa pitched 5.1 innings, giving up two runs, striking out three and walking two in a 7-6 victory over the Blue Jays. Carlos Beltran (.299, 68 Rs, 27 HRs, 86 RBIs) continued his strong season yesterday, going 2 for 5. The Rays were unsuccessful the last time Andriese pitched. He did not do well, pitching 5.0 innings, allowing seven runs, striking out seven and walking one in a 7-3 loss to the Orioles.
