The 2019 IIHF World Championships are underway, and both Team Canada and Team USA are looking to turn things around after a disappointing start. Canada lost one of their best players, center John Tavares, to an oblique injury right before the start of the tournament and ended up losing to Finland in their opener. Meanwhile, Team USA lost to hosts Slovakia and needs to bounce back to avoid disappointment.
Tyson Jost has confirmed he will be joining Team Canada in Slovakia.

Tyson Jost will be replacing Tavares as one of the centers for Team Canada. Jost was impressive on the Colorado Avalanche this season, and he is not taking any time off after his Avalanche were eliminated. Pierre-Luc Dubois is also joining the team.

Team USA was also unable to get a win, falling to the hosts in Kosice. Probabe No. 1 pick Jack Hughes failed to notch a point for the Americans, while Jack Eichel netted an assist in a 4-1 defeat.

The Stanley Cup still has a little time to vacation before it is claimed in a few weeks time, so it decided to take in a baseball game in San Francisco last night. Some NHL diehards have said that the sanctity of the best trophy in all of sports has been violated, but there were no playoff games yesterday, so what’s the harm?

Charlie McAvoy will return from a one game suspension tomorrow for Game 2. His return will make either Game 1 hero Steven Kampfer or Connor Clifton a DNP due to roster restrictions.
So they meet again. https://t.co/mdKSKH6tPH #stlblues

Game 1 between San Jose and St. Louis is tonight. The Sharks are slight favorites in the series and have more weapons than the Blues do. However, Jordan Binnington has been superb this postseason, and he will be out to lead the Blues to the Stanley Cup Finals.
