The Houston Texans defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 26-3 in London on Sunday. Deshaun Watson added to his impressive 2019 season by passing for 201 yards with two touchdowns, and rushing for 37 yards.
This performance comes just one week after his amazing game-winning touchdown against the Oakland Raiders, where he was kicked in the face by Arden Key after he escaped a sack and fired the ball to CJ Fiedorowicz in the endzone.
This @deshaunwatson play gets more amazing the more I look at it.
I stopped it where
– You can see him get kicked in the eye
– Where he – MID-PLAY – puts his hand up to his face
…then a split second later throws a perfectly placed touchdown pass. pic.twitter.com/H4YqdwFg7u— Ari Alexander (@KPRC2Ari) October 28, 2019
Watson’s eye had been a lingering issue all week and he originally planned to wear a visor against Jacksonville, but Melissa Stark of NFL Network reported he ultimately decided against it due to a concern about the mist in London fogging it up.
The key to his eye feeling better, Watson said in his postgame interview, was Popeyes chicken sandwiches.

Popeyes chicken sandwiches made a triumphant return this week after they sold out less than two weeks after being unveiled in August. The demand has only grown for them ever since, and Watson clearly couldn’t wait to get his hands on them. Now that their healing powers have been revealed, they might become even more legendary. Other chicken sandwiches might have to step up now!
Somebody get this man an endorsement deal, and more Popeyes sandwiches.
