Texas News: Longhorns Get Hypnotized

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY Sports

On Monday, the Texas Longhorns got out of the heat and had a little fun. Tom Herman wanted to break up the grind of summer practices before the start of the season, and his team certainly enjoyed the day off.

Coach Herman invited hypnotist Jonathan Yeager to come to Austin and lighten up the mood, and he certainly succeeded if you see some of the reactions from the video. Multiple players were hypnotized as their teammates watched on with childlike giddiness.

Freshman running back Jordan Whittington had the best responses of the bunch. Whittington was hypnotized to respond negatively every time Yeager said the words “Thank you”, and the way that his body language changed upon hearing such an innocuous phrase cracked his teammates up throughout the performance.

Yeager did a small show at the Dallas Cowboys headquarters last night while the team was preparing for the season out in Oxnard, California, so keep an eye on social media to see if Jerry Jones or any Cowboys executives were hypnotized on Tuesday.

As for Texas, the Longhorns are back at practice and getting ready for their season opener in a little over two weeks. Texas will take on Louisiana Tech in their season opener on August 31 in a game where the stakes have already been raised after Terry Bradshaw called out Sam Ehlinger and Texas earlier this year.

College Gameday is likely to come to Austin the following week as Texas takes on LSU in one of the biggest non-conference games of the season. Both teams have lofty aspirations, and the winner is surely to be ranked in the top 10 in both polls after the game.

The Longhorns are considered the second-best team in the Big 12 after Oklahoma, and big things are expected following last year’s Cotton Bowl win over Georgia.
