Texas Rangers vs. Minnesota Twins on Thursday on MLB Network

MLB Odds: It could be a high scoring game on Thursday as the Texas Rangers visit the Minnesota Twins on MLB Network. The Texas Rangers should be going with Nick Martinez on Thursday while the Minnesota Twins send Ricky Nolasco. The Texas Rangers have been decimated by injuries this season and they are struggling to stay relevant in the American League West. The Minnesota Twins have been a bit of a surprise this season as they have been around the .500 mark. Here is a look at Thursday’s contest and MLB predictions.

Probable Pitchers

The Texas Rangers have been pleasantly surprised with Nick Martinez and he is making a push to stay in the starting rotation. He had an ERA of 2.28 in eight games pitched this season. He looked good in his first three starts but he rarely goes deep into games so the Texas Rangers bullpen will likely be needed in this one.

This could be a battle of the bullpens because the Minnesota Twins will probably be going with Ricky Nolasco. He has not pitched that well this season as he normally goes five or six innings and allows three or four runs. He allowed exactly three runs in his first four starts in May. He had an ERA of over five in his first nine starts this season.

Game Notes

The Minnesota Twins have been winning with offense as they ranked in the top 10 in runs per game. They still don’t have enough pitching to contend in the American League but they have been hovering around the .500 mark this season.

Series Notes

These teams had split their last ten meetings overall with the last four going under the total. The Texas Rangers had won six of the last ten at Minnesota with six of the last seven going under.

MLB Predictions

I have no faith at all in Nolasco and I like what I have seen so far from Martinez so I will take a shot with the Texas Rangers in this one and there is a chance they will be listed as underdogs in MLB betting odds.
