Event Details
Event: QBE Shootout

Category: PGA
Location: Tiburon Golf Club, Naples, Florida
Past Five Winners
2017: Sean O’Hair & Steve Stricker

2014: Jason Day & Cameron Tringale
2013: Harris English & Matt Kuchar
Dechambeau & Na +500
Bryson Dechambeau and Kevin Na are the sports betting favorites to win this event for a reason. Both have had solid campaigns and both have the intelligence to figure out how to succeed at a tournament with this type of format. Dechambeau has picked up three wins in his last six starts while Na’s exceptional skill set is the perfect compliment. This tandem should live up to the hype as the betting favorites to win.
Champ & Kisner +550
Cameron Champ made an immediate impression during his rookie season on the PGA Tour and now he gets an opportunity to build on it teamed with a solid veteran in Kevin Kisner. Kisner loved playing with Phil Mickelson at the Presidents Cup last year and has already joked about how pumped he is at having the opportunity to play this tournament with Champ. These two have the skill sets to contend and the fact that they have no pressure on them whatsoever should help them to relax and play their best golf this week in Naples.
Hoffman & Woodland +700
Both Charley Hoffman and Gary Woodland have come close to winning this tournament in recent years with different partners. Now that they have teamed up with one another, perhaps this is the year that they finally get it done. Both golfers have a solid understanding of what it will take to win this week so look for them to contend for their first victories here.
Perez & Stanley +750
Pat Perez and Kyle Stanley are another interesting tandem to keep an eye on this week. Perez displayed a return to form with top-10 finishes in Korea and Mexico, while Stanley undoubtedly has immense potential if he can just solve his issues with the putter. This tandem has flown under the radar somewhat but undoubtedly has the potential to contend for the win in the QBE Shootout this week.
Howell & List +800
Charles Howell and Luke List are another intriguing team based on their individual highlights this season. Howell’s run at the RSM Classic was one of the incredible performances of the year. Perhaps his presence can help spark List, who has underachieved this season. Both golfers have immense potential if they can put it all together this week. At +800 odds, there is decent value in taking a shot on them to win the QBE Shootout.
Watson & Varner +1000
Bubba Watson and Harold Varner are an intriguing play this week, especially when you consider they are listed at +1000 to win this event. Bubba was seventh last year and finished fifth in the two-man Zurich Classic so he has shown a strong pedigree at this type of event. Varner isn’t a terrible partner either so perhaps this team surprises and wins the QBE Shootout outright.
O’Hair & Strickland +1400
Sean O’Hair and Steve Strickland won this tournament last year, but somehow they haven’t been given much of an opportunity to win it again this time around. O’Hair hasn’t been great this season and Stricker hasn’t gotten any younger over the past 12 months. That said, they looked really good here a year ago and might be worth taking a chance on. At +1400 odds, it might be worth taking O’Hair and Strickland as a sleeper pick this week.
Finau & Thompson +1400
The best value on the board for this week’s tournament is Tony Finau and Lexi Thompson, who have been paired together in a unique tandem for the QBE Shootout. Finau has two second-place finishes already this season while Thompson just won the LPGA Tour Championship two weeks ago. These two partnered here a year ago and finished fourth at this event and yet they still aren’t getting the respect they deserve. At +1400 odds, it’s definitely worth it to take a chance on Finau and Thompson to win the QBE Shootout this week.
