One week after Manchester United shocked the world with a dominant win over Manchester City, all eyes will be on Stamford Bridge as they look to pay the same courtesy to Chelsea in another highly anticipated showdown. While that clash will steal the Premier League spotlight, there is also plenty of reason to pay close attention to Manchester City’s form against West Ham as well as Spurs performance versus Newcastle. Here is a quick look at the best bets on the board for this weekend’s fantasy Premier League for DraftKings.
GK: Lukasz Fabianski, Swansea City
Salary: $4,700
It makes sense to go with the best available option here and there is little doubt Fabianski is exactly that heading in to a clash with Leicester this Saturday. Fabianski ranks second among all Premier League goalkeepers in fantasy production for this season and a matchup against a Leicester side facing relegation could very well mean he puts up the best fantasy stat line of any keeper this weekend. Leicester enters the week ranked dead last in the table with just 25 points. They have scored just 17 away goals this season.
D: Ashley Williams, Swansea City
Salary: $4,000
It makes sense to stick with a favorable matchup and find a value play on the back end, so Williams makes a lot of sense as Swansea’s most productive fantasy defender this season. Williams’ numbers weren’t great last week but a game against Leicester should fix that.
D: Jose Fonte, Southampton
Salary: $3,600
Southampton won’t have an easy time shutting down Stoke but no defender has more clean sheets to his name this season than Fonte. That makes him an excellent value play and a lock on the back end on a side that has allowed the fewest goals in the Premier League this season.
M: Eden Hazard, Chelsea
Salary: $9,400
The strength of the Chelsea attack is through the middle of the pitch and no Premier League midfielder has been more productive than Hazard this season. Hazard will need another strong performance this week if the Blues are going to take care of business versus United. With Diego Costa still potentially sidelined with a hamstring injury, look for him to produce a strong fantasy stat line.
M: Stewart Downing, West Ham United
Salary: $5,600
The Manchester City midfield was an absolute mess versus United last week and while they probably couldn’t be much worse this week, they are certainly somewhat vulnerable heading in to a game that most think they should win at home versus West Ham. The Hammers have just three wins in 15 away games.
That said, Downing has been an absolute force in terms of fantasy production this season, ranking among the top-five at his position and he should be counted on for another strong performance.
F: Sergio Aguero, Manchester City
Salary: $9,400
Even when City was being hit hard by United, it was Aguero providing some punch up front with a pair goals last week. Considering they need a better result at home versus West Ham this weekend, there is plenty of reason to expect another strong fantasy stat line in another example of a player that should be a lock in your starting lineup.
F: Glenn Murray, Crystal Palace
Salary: $4,000
Believe it or not, Murray actually led all forwards in fantasy production last week when he narrowly beat out Aguero at the position. It looks like he could be in for another strong stat line on Saturday with Crystal Palace set to host West Brom. There are a couple of different options up front but considering his recent form Murray should be worth investing in as part of most starting XI’s.
FLEX: Christian Eriksen, Spurs
Salary: $5,600
Tottenham has been a difficult team to get an accurate read on from week to week but Eriksen has been fairly consistent as a playmaker in the middle. He should put up decent numbers versus Newcastle this weekend.
