It’s Thursday afternoon and that means it’s time for the Gronkcast with Chris and Glenn Gronkowski, exclusive to GetMoreSports. There’s plenty of topics on tap for the Gronks in this Week 7 edition of the Gronkcast, including Le’Veon Bell’s situation with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Before the Gronkcast wraps up, Chris and Glenn deliver their Bulletproof Picks. Once again, Chris and Glenn have quite a bit of fun at their own expense as they’ve gone 2-12 with their Bulletproof Picks this season.
“Actually, you know what we said?” Glenn jokes. “We said take the opposite of (what we say). If you’d done that, you would have won. In the long run, we were kind of right.”
“Everyone who took my opposite,” Chris said. “You’re welcome.”

The issue with Chris’ pick of the Packers at -9.5 over the 49ers has plenty to do with C.J. Beathard, but probably a lot more with Mike McCarthy as the head coach of Green Bay. Either way, Chris is steering clear of Beathard this season.
Glenn kicks himself for laying it on a Thursday night game.
“I just wanted to take the home teams, but it was a home game for the Eagles as well,” Glenn said. “They’re only an hour away in a flight. I think there were more Eagles fans there. That strategy did not work. The Eagles went out there and absolutely dominated.”
Here’s the thing about Chris’ pick here, and I won’t spoil it. I like it, though. I’m making the same underdog pick myself and if you read my underdogs for Week 7 article, then you already know.
Once again, Glenn comes in with his selection and we are anything but simpatico. Maybe drop in and check out the article right after you listen to the Gronkcast for a little back up to Chris’ thinking, while arguing against Glenn’s thought process.
After taking their lumps, they move into their conversation on Le’Veon Bell. Bell let it be known a few weeks ago he was planning to report to Pittsburgh during the team’s bye week. That just so happens to be right now and, as of this writing, Bell has yet to set foot inside the Steelers’ facility.
There’s a good chance that even if Bell returns, Pittsburgh will place a roster exemption on him for two weeks and avoid paying him about $1.7 million of whatever is left of his franchise tag money.
“I don’t understand it at all,” Chris said. “You’re making $14.5 million this year. You’ve sat out six games, giving up more than $5 million,” Chris said. “To me, that’s insanity. I played three years and I didn’t come close to making that kind of money that he gave up in six games.”
Chris speculates about Bell’s future, not only with Pittsburgh, but with the entire league. Certainly James Conner has done plenty to establish himself as a starting back. Conner is averaging 4.4 yards per carry. He’s toted the ball 103 times for 453 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s caught 26 passes for 257 yards.
As always, the show wraps up with Chris and Glenn’s Capper’s Cup picks and you can play right along with them at BetDSI.com.
