It’s Thursday and once again time for The Gronkcast with Chris and Glenn Gronkowski. Each week, the two former NFL players delve deep into the happenings in the league, deliver picks against the spread and offer a one-of-a kind, behind-the-curtain look at the professional football experience from guys who actually played the game. Go ahead and fill up your IceShaker with your beverage of choice, sit back, relax and enjoy The Gronkcast, exclusive to GetMoreSports.
There’s plenty of big NFL news on tap for this episode but before they can get to that, the Gronks must take their medicine on last week’s Bulletproof Pick. Both guys teamed up and took the Colts over the Jaguars for Week 13 and, needless to say, it did not work out. Andrew Luck had thrown at least three touchdowns a game for the last eight weeks. Against the Jags? Zero. The Colts fell 6-0 in a shutout.
“Andrew Luck was playing at levels [like] Tom Brady and Peyton Manning, as the only other quarterbacks who have thrown three touchdowns in eight games,” Chris said. “He comes out there and was just shut down. That big stop early on gave Jacksonville that confidence. … They could have put up points in all three of those situations (three fourth-down stops), but instead they chose to go for it. I think the Colts just had too much confidence in themselves and should have taken the points instead. … I think it came down to some bad decisions.”

To be fair, this game nailed all of us, both straight up and against the spread.
To bounce back, Chris and Glenn toss out their Bulletproof Picks for Week 14. Glenn floats a wild card pick that seems like a reach to me. I’m going completely the other way in the Friday Afternoon Quarterback.
Chris is breaking out the Bulletproof tour bus again. He’s hosed it off, did some engine work and picked a huge home favorite that’s been through a tumultuous week.
From there it’s an easy segue into Mike McCarthy’s firing and how shocked they were to see it happen during the season.
“I think Mike McCarthy is a great coach and he is going to go on and be great somewhere else,” Chris said. “I think at some point everything just comes to an end. People get burned out. Obviously, there was a lot of tension there between Aaron Rodgers and Mike McCarthy and that just wore them out.”
They roll into a discussion about Kareem Hunt and the Kansas City Chiefs’ decision to cut him. Glenn minces no words about it.
“He (Hunt) should be gone without a doubt,” Glenn said. “Kansas City made the right move. How these players … how anybody is out there doing this stuff is unbelievable. How do you treat women like that? … I don’t think he should be allowed back into the NFL.”
Before the show wraps up, Chris and Glenn toss out their Cappers Cup picks and set up all your Week 14 NFL action.
