Talk ‘n’ Shoot Podcast – Pacquiao vs Bradley

The Talk ‘n’ Shoot Podcast is back this week, with a full preview of Pacquiao vs Bradley III that hits the ring this Saturday, April 9th, at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Eight-division world champion Manny Pacquiao makes his return to the ring, after an 11-month absence from competition, to face Tim Bradley for a third, and likely final time.

Join us for the Talk ‘n’ Shoot Boxing Podcast #3 where we take a more in-depth look at this weekend’s fight.

Pacquiao versus Bradley 3 will air on HBO pay-per-view, and one interesting number to look at will be how many ppv sales the fight generates. The last time we saw Pacquiao was when he faced Floyd Mayweather Jr., in the fight that generated more revenue than any other fight in boxing history, which captured over 4 million pay-per-view purchases. Mayweather was widely considered the “A” attraction in that fight, and because it was such a huge disappointment, Floyd’s subsequent fight with Andre Berto saw his numbers drop considerably. Bradley is not a huge draw, so the number will be largely generated by Pac-man’s drawing power. Although Pacquiao will always have his hardcore fans, the question will be if it will effect his crossover appeal?

Pac-man is reported to be in fine shape heading into the fight, and he has never had any issues with conditioning in his long career. After the Mayweather fight it was revealed that his right shoulder cuff needed surgery, and though he is primarily a southpaw, Pacquiao is going to have to prove that his shoulder can hold up over the course of twelve rounds. at 37 years old, ring rust and whether he lost a step will also be a factor.

In Bradley he is facing a very focused 32 year old who sees another win over Pacquiao as the key to his earning respect. Bradley has hooked up with trainer Teddy Atlas, and this is their second fight working together. Atlas has changed a lot, including Bradley’s diet, training and mindset and he has Bradley’s total buy-in. Bradley is a dangerous opponent and in the eyes of many experts, he has to be considered a live underdog.

The TnS Podcast also gets in-depth about the April 9th IBF Heavyweight title fight between Charles Martin and Anthony Joshua scheduled for the O2 Arena in London. Martin is the beltholder, having won the belt this past January and he is making his first title defense in this fight.

Pacquiao-Bradley Preview and More

The Talk ‘n’ Shoot podcast also delves into two other subject’s that are prevalent in boxing right now. First is the ongoing recovery of Nick Blackwell, a British fighter who was put into an unduced coma after his March 26th fight with Chris Eubank Jr. We also touch upon the Lucas Browne situation, as the Australian WBA World Heavyweight champion is in the middle of a steroid scandal that is likely goin to result in him being suspended and stripped of the title.
