Before we get in the the recap, here’s a quick reminder of the Top 10 dancers:

Chelsea didn’t dance in the opening because of a slight injury, but she did perform in the competition.
Magda and Darius performed a Bollywood routine: I liked it, but I felt that Darius was stronger than Magda. Nigel said it was an incredible routine. Vanessa called it joyous. Mary said Darius has so much energy.
Chelsea and Evan tackled a hip-hop routine. What an amazing performance compared to last week. Twitch said they connected much better, but that the connection was still in and out. Mary still said she wanted more, but I don’t get what they are missing. Hmmmm.
Hannahlei and Cole performed a step routine. Hannahlei is definitely stronger in this routine, but Cole held his own. What a fun routine. Twitch said they brought the energy to it even though he said that he didn’t believe Cole’s performance. Mary loved the style and said the couple did it justice and that Hannahlei did a great job.
Jensen and Jay Jay danced a contemporary piece. Mary called the choreography beautiful and said the emotion just came out of both of them. She called it the best performance of the competition so far. Nigel called Jensen a powerhouse.
Slavik and Genessy did the jive. I love, love, loved this routine and this is one of my favorite styles of dances ever. The fact that Slavik is a hip-hop dancer and did this is just mind-blowing. All of the judges were on their feet.
Magda and Darius performed again, and this time the danced jazz to “Fever” and I think it was great. Not many Mandy Moore choreographed performances aren’t great. That was hot. Twitch said the power of subtlety is great and he’s right. Mary said they sizzled.
Back to Evan and Chelsea and this is a Travis Wall performance, so please do it justice. I think they held their own, but I’ve seen Travis’ dances performed better. I honestly think they are in trouble, but we’ll see. Twitch sees the connection now. Mary said they have the power for them to be on Broadway and they found the chemistry together in this piece – beautiful and strong.
Hannahlei and Cole then danced a disco. I honestly think that Hannahlei is the frontrunner in this competition. Great great job doing a disco dance, I was transported back to the 1970s. Mary said she was out of breath and they did a amazing job. Nigel called it scintillating.
Jensen and Jay Jay returned with an African jazz dance. Wow, that was so unique and done so well by both and it was so much out of their comfort zone. Excellent job. Nigel said that they are the strongest dance couple on the show.
Slavik and Genessy performed a Broadway piece and I love Broadway – Slavik really has had a challenge this week. I felt the chemistry in this performance. Slavik is really changing my mind about him. I think it was a simply choreographed performance, but it was sweet. Twitch and Mary thought it was a great job.
Results:
Hannahlei and Jay Jay are safe.
Gennesy, Slavik, Jensen and Darius are safe.
The bottom four are Magda, Chelsea, Evan and Cole.
Going Home: Evan and Chelsea. Damn, I wanted Evan to stay over Cole to stay. Next week, we’ll see which of the next So You Think You Can Dance contestants goes home.
