Social media is great for capturing the feeling of an individual moment, and in baseball, few things are more scintillating than a benches-clearing kerfuffle. And when the Rockies and Mets had one Friday night, the social media teams were ready. There wasn’t a brawl between the Braves and Marlins, but Ronald Acuna clearly remembered the last time he faced Jose Urena. Elsewhere, Domingo Santana went to catch a foul ball and got more than he bargained for, the Rays’ Yonny Chirinos had the start of a lifetime and the Padres produced another moment to remember.
The Rockies bullpen coming in full speed was definitely a highlight of a fight that didn’t produce much actual fighting.
#TipOfTheCap to the bullpen for getting there in less than 20 seconds 👏 pic.twitter.com/cl7PZlswHr

Jose Urena hit Ronald Acuna intentionally the last time they squared off. Acuna apparently remembered.
Ronald Acuña Jr. was right to enjoy this

Domingo Santana is a big man, and most fans just aren’t going to win a wrestling match with him for a foul ball.

Yonny Chirinos has been used in shorter starts for his whole career. Then came Friday and a perfect-game bid through five innings and eight two-hit innings in all.

That moment when a slide becomes a Padres’ walk-off win over the Nationals.
That @JoshNaylor44 headfirst slide though!#FriarFaithful pic.twitter.com/NIDiZB9svh
