While Thon Maker appeared to be headed towards a mid-year reclassification to the 2015 crop of prospects, he and his camp have made it clear that he’s now settled into the 2016 class. With that, he seems to have also settled into a groove on the court.
Maker has been turning heads all week at the Under Armour All American camp, and reversing the recent momentum of opinion that professional scouts have had about his game.
Kentucky, Florida St. and Oklahoma State are among schools to reach out to Thon Maker since move to 2016. Arizona St., Indiana in there too.

I didn’t see Thon Maker in past year, but some were down on him. Not sure because every time I see him he looks terrific. Future lotto pick.

He’s always been able to play with a high motor and his potential has always been off the charts, but it seems as though his confidence and basketball IQ have finally come back after nearly a year of inconsistency.
As Jeff Borzello tweeted above, his recent play has also sparked renewed interest from some of the best programs in the country. Thought to be an Arizona State lean due to his connections to the coaching staff, industry experts are starting to express a bit of doubt about where he’ll end up.
Either way, there may not be a more interesting prospect to follow in the 2016 class, due to the hype that he has long received from scouts and YouTube fans alike.
