Boston and Colorado both evened their series last night with Columbus and San Jose last night, essentially ensuring that we will have at least one Game 7 in the conference semifinals. With Dallas and St. Louis also tied 2-2, it’s hard to see all three series having one team win two in a row to close out. That will give us a chance to see the most exciting spectacle in sports.
One team that is very unlikely to see its series go to seven games is the Carolina Hurricanes. The Hurricanes have been great on defense throughout their series with the New York Islanders, and they are favored to end their series in a sweep tonight.
Four months ago, the #Canes were just two points out of last place in the entire NHL.
Now, they're a win away from the Eastern Conference Final.#TakeWarninghttps://t.co/MPdGIUtLvV

Boston was finally able to break through against Sergei Bobrovsky last night to even its series with Columbus 2-2. Patrice Bergeron scored twice on the power play in the victory, and the four goals Bobrovsky allowed were the most he has given up this postseason.

Nathan MacKinnon has put the Avalanche on his back this postseason. MacKinnon led the charge for Colorado once again in Game 4 last night, opening the scoring with a goal midway through the second period in an eventual 3-0 win for the Avalanche.
MacKinnon's eight-game point streak is the longest by an Avalanche player in the #StanleyCup Playoffs since Forsberg in 2002.

One of Toronto’s stars went under the knife to remove some kind of medical equipment on Thursday. Auston Matthews has a bright future in the NHL, and the youngster notched 37 goals this season.

Sadly, a hockey legend passed away at the age of 91 yesterday. Red Kelly played 20 seasons in the NHL, and he was elected to the Hall of Fame shortly after his retirement. Kelly lived a long, fascinating life, and TSN wrote up an excellent profile on one of the game’s greats.
