It’s one thing to bet blindly on the NFL and hope for the best when it comes to getting lucky with a winning ticket. It’s an absolute art form to put in the necessary work, identify winning trends and consistently build up a bankroll with winning results. We took a look at this week’s slate in order to help circle some of the most promising betting trends for NFL Week 10. Here is a look at the top five betting trends for NFL Week 10:
Oakland is 1-9 straight up and against the spread in its last 10 games dating back to last season. The Chargers are 19-7 ATS at Oakland in their last 26 visits and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings overall.
Remember when Jon Gruden signed the richest coaching contract in NFL history and there was all that chatter about how he would be the one that took the Raiders to the next level as a Super Bowl contender? It’s incredible how quickly things have changed. Gruden has shipped out his best players for draft picks in what clearly looks like a rebuilding effort before the team packs up and heads to Las Vegas. Oakland is 1-9 both SU and ATS in its last 10 games dating back to last season. Now the Raiders return home for a tough test against the 6-2 Chargers. A 10-point spread gives Oakland a little cover. That said, the Raiders are coming off four straight double-digit losses, including a 26-10 defeat at the hands of the Chargers and a 31-point loss to the San Francisco 49ers last week. There is a very good chance the Chargers win and cover on the road.

Lions are 9-1 straight up in their last 10 games vs. Bears.
Don’t look now but Chicago currently owns the best record in the NFC North at 5-3. Are the Bears for real? Or are they due for regression? There is a good chance we find out this week when they play a Detroit side that they have struggled against recently. The Lions are 9-1 straight up in their last 10 games against Chicago over the last five seasons. Detroit’s season will be on the line at 3-5 so there will definitely be a sense of urgency when they take the field this week. The Bears might win the game outright at home, but it’s hard to trust them as 6.5-point favorites against an opponent that has dominated them in recent years.
Cincinnati is 0-3 against the spread vs. opponents with winning records this season. The Saints are 4-0 ATS when facing a team with a winning record.
The Bengals are another team that has surprised out of the gate with a 5-3 record. However, Cincinnati’s win-loss record might be a bit of a mirage as they are actually 0-3 against the spread versus opponents with winning records this season. The Saints are absolutely rolling following big wins over the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams. New Orleans should be able to avoid a letdown this week against a Bengals side that might not be as good as their record indicates right now.
Falcons are 0-8 against the spread in their last eight games vs. AFC opponents. However, they have won five straight as a road favorite of 3.5 to seven points (17-7 SU in last 24).
Atlanta is coming off a big 38-14 win over the NFC East-leading Washington Redskins, the Falcons first road victory of the year. Now the Falcons will travel again to face the lowly Browns. Most people will jump on Atlanta thinking that they should be able to take care of business this week. However, the Falcons’ poor road record, combined with an 0-8 ATS record in their last eight games against AFC opponents might indicate they are due for a letdown heading in to the Dawg Pound. Cleveland put up a fight against the Kansas City Chiefs last week so perhaps they can keep this game close this week. The Browns could cover the 4.5-point spread in a game they might very well be able to win straight up.
New England is 5-0 straight up and against the spread in its last five games vs. Tennessee. They’re also 15-5 ATS in their last 20 road games and 6-1 ATS in their last seven as a road favorite of 3.5 to seven points.
The Patriots are rolling following a 31-17 win over the Green Bay Packers that pushed their win streak to six in a row. Now they get to play an opponent they have absolutely dominated in recent years, the Titans. New England is 5-0 SU and ATS in its last five games against Tennessee, outscoring them by an average of 29 points. The Titans could have a tough time keeping up on a short week. Look for the Patriots to comfortably cover the six-point spread on the road in Week 10.
