Social media is at its best in the big moments, and there were some cool ones on Wednesday night around Major League Baseball. We had an inside-the-park home run for the Arizona Diamondbacks, an impromptu Happy Birthday to the Dodgers’ Alex Verdugo, Bruce Willis bouncing a first pitch and a rookie hitting a home run in his first career game. It was bound to be a good social media night, too.
They say the most exciting play in baseball is the triple. The Diamondbacks say they’re wrong.
Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday to You, Happy Birthday dear Alex Verdugo, the Dodger fans are singing to you.
Sound ON.

We expected more, Bruce Willis. That first pitch was not Pulp Fiction or Die Hard-worthy.

The Twins are one of baseball’s surprise teams, and they keep rolling. Up next, a series with the Seattle Mariners, another of baseball’s surprise teams, and another with quite a bit of power.
76 home runs this season.
Homers in 10 straight games.

With all of the top prospects being called up this week, the Braves’ Austin Riley was being a little overlooked. Not after this.
Austin Riley’s first #MLB homer was a no-doubter:
