When it comes to social media, oftentimes winning teams have the best content to work with. But sometimes, losing — maybe even a lot of it — forces social media managers to get creative. That’s been the case for the Miami Marlins, and they had another gem Friday night. Of course, having the Stanley Cup in your house, holding baseballs no less, can make for some interesting posts, too, as can bobbleheads and superstars hitting home runs for kids. It’s all good as we slide into the weekend in Major League Baseball.

Look, it’s been a long season already for the Miami Marlins, and it’s just going to get longer. Friday night’s 11-2 loss to the Mets was especially cringe-worthy, and so the team’s social media manager had some fun with it.

The Stanley Cup has seen a lot of places and been used in a lot of ways over the years, but the San Francisco Giants might have given it a new experience before their Friday night game with the Reds.

Speaking of the Giants, there’s a Pablo Sandoval pitching bobblehead? Why yes, yes there is, and it’s everywhere you look, even on the most popular show on TV.

Angels superstar Mike Trout made a child’s wish come true by bringing him on the field Friday night … and then he hit a home run while his dad was talking to the TV station.

Back to the whole good-teams-have-better-content idea: The Brewers’ seventh straight victory was against the first-place team in the NL Central. Yeah, that’s worth a post.
