Philipp Grubauer came out on top in Game 5 between the Colorado Avalanche and Calgary Flames, the referees made some dubious decisions concerning goaltender interference and Philadelphia’s Cam Talbot is far from happy with the refs’ inconsistency.
Grubauer with the save of the night
The Colorado Avalanche upset the favored Calgary Flames and knocked them out of the NHL playoffs in five games. The Avs have to thank their goalie Philipp Grubauer, who was magnificent once again.

Both No. 1 seeds are out!
For the first time in NHL history, both No. 8 seeds defeated the No. 1 seeds in the same year. It is a shock considering Tampa and Calgary combined for 112 wins in the regular season and had just one between them in the playoffs.

A tale of two goalie interference calls
Referees made some obvious mistakes as they didn’t disallow the Toronto Maple Leafs’ goal against the Boston Bruins even though it was clear goaltender interference. On the other hand, they made the right decision in disallowing Calgary Flames’ goal against Colorado Avalanche for the same reason.

Talbot not impressed with referees
Philadelphia Flyers’ goalie Cam Talbot wasn’t happy with referees’ decisions last night and he thinks that games are being lost in the playoffs because of inconsistency and it’s not right. Look what he tweeted.
Once again the NHL goalie interference review is flawed. Someone that’s played the game in the blue paint should be in the situation room. Games are being lost in the playoffs and it’s not right. #inconsistent https://t.co/1DmPfnZC9K

Timpf is watching the NHL
Kat Timpf, a comedian and television personality, posted a funny tweet saying that he cannot decide which team to root for in the NHL playoffs. Naturally, her tweet was full of dark humor and someone can consider it morbid.
It’s weird how I decide which team to root for when I’m watching the NHL playoffs. Like tonight I was like “Oh, my mom died in Boston, that wasn’t fun, go Toronto!”
