Kanter’s fight with the Turkish government
Portland Trail Blazers’ center Enes Kanter is known for his support for the opposition in Turkey rather than supporting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan but he was still surprised to see the Turkish NBA account on Twitter censoring him. Namely, the media outlet didn’t even put Kanter’s name in the box score after Game 2 with Denver Nuggets and Enes is clearly upset with it.
What a messed up country lead by #TurkishDictator @RTErdogan
Only Turkish player out here tonight, and the official @NBA for Turkey @NBAturkiye is censoring me. They dont show blazers games in Turkey. The government controls people, this a problem. How can official NBA allow this pic.twitter.com/Zvny0NwF8C— Enes FREEDOM (@EnesFreedom) May 2, 2019
