Lots of fun stuff on Major League Baseball social media to start the weekend. The Texas Rangers’ Joey Gallo hit a monstrous home run. Arizona Diamondbacks center fielder Ketel Marte completely lost a fly ball … and then followed it up with a great catch on the very next batter. There’s also some not-so-fun stuff with the White Sox’s Tim Anderson getting suspended and players speaking out against it.
You don’t often see home runs this long hit right down the right-field line. But you don’t often see players like Joey Gallo, either.
Joey Gallo hit this one 442 feet out 🚀

Ketel Marte is a converted shortstop playing center field, and it was VERY windy at Wrigley Field on Friday, so he can be somewhat excused for the first one. But how did he track the second one so well then?
The Windy City was unfair to Ketel Marte. pic.twitter.com/4nMQ5RVPge

Major League Baseball’s suspension for Tim Anderson came after he flipped his bat and used inappropriate language when he was later hit by a pitch. Then Major League Baseball’s Twitter account tweeted out support? Strange
Keep doing your thing, @TimAnderson7. 👏 #LetTheKidsPlay pic.twitter.com/9irMSsyFZ2
