Top Seeds Looking to Avoid Upsets at Roland Garros

French Open Odds:  The early action at Roland Garros has already seen some major upsets as both of this year’s Australian Open winners went out in the first round.  Stanislaw Wawrinka was beaten on the men’s side and Li Na lost on the women’s side.  The two favorites to win the French Open are still alive with Serena Williams in action on Wednesday and Rafael Nadal on Thursday.  Let’s look at some of the matchups available for Thursday in French Open betting.

Rafael Nadal vs. Dominic Thiem

The top seed on the men’s side is Nadal and anything other than a dominating win on Thursday would be a huge surprise. Nadal is listed as a huge -2500 favorite to win this match.

Leonardo Mayer vs. Teymuraz Gabashvili

This should be a good one with Mayer listed as a -145 favorite against Gabashvili.

Feliciano Lopez vs. Donald Young

Lopez is listed as a -250 favorite to win this match.

Fabio Fognini vs. Thomaz Bellucci

This one should be a win for Fognini who is listed as more than a 4-1 favorite.

Guillermo Garcia-Lopez -675 vs. Adrian Mannarino

This is another one where the favorite is expected to have no trouble.

French Open Schedule

Second round action continues on Wednesday and Thursday for the men and the women. Third round action will start on Friday and continue on Saturday. Fourth round play begins on Sunday and continues on Monday. The quarterfinals will be on Tuesday, June 3rd and continue on Wednesday, June 4th. The women’s semifinals are Thursday, June 5th while the men’s semifinals are Friday, June 6th. The women’s final is Saturday, June 7th on NBC while the men’s final is set for Sunday, June 8th on NBC.

Matchups are on the board each day at the French Open and French Open betting odds are available at the online sportsbook.  The French Open has seen some upsets already so taking the big prices is at least worth considering over the next week and a half.
