The Manning Passing Academy brings together some of the top collegiate quarterbacks in the country every summer. Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Jake Fromm, and Tua Tagovailoa headline the list of participants this year, but one of them is reported to have suffered an injury at the camp. Tagovailoa is reportedly being held out for the remainder of camp after a minor injury.
.. @AlabamaFTBL quarterback Tua Tagavailoa not at Manning Passing Academy due to slight hamstring injury – nothing serious – just kept out for precautionary measures #wgnosports

It sounds like Tua’s injury is minor, but this isn’t a good feeling for Alabama fans. Tagovailoa has picked up a lot of nagging injuries over the last year, and those fans would love to just keep him in bubble wrap with Jalen Hurts now at Oklahoma. The good news is that if reports of the injury only being a tweaked hamstring are true, he’ll just need a couple weeks off and he’ll be right as rain.
Mike Aresco says AAC “will move w/deliberate speed & probably will have pretty good idea of our direction by mid-July. We have several options: stay at 11, add an all-sport member or add a football and/or basketball member. We are strong in all sports & don’t need to do anything”

The AAC and commissioner Mike Aresco will have some interesting decisions to make over the next 12 months. The league was caught off guard when news broke that UConn was leaving to join the Big East last week, so they are going to need time to thoroughly vet their options. At least a half-dozen teams have been linked to joining the AAC, but Aresco’s money quote from a sitdown with CBS Sports was that “probably very few” teams would actually be worth adding to the conference from a financial sense.
Virginia Tech transfer Sean Savoy has received a waiver from the NCAA to play in 2019, Maryland announced. Terps are still waiting to hear about status of linebacker Keandre Jones. Savoy, who can play both WR and DB, has two years of eligibility remaining.

Former Virginia Tech wide receiver Sean Savoy transferred to Maryland this offseason, and the NCAA granted his request for immediate eligibility. Savoy was one of the leading receivers on the Hokies in 2018, but he will be moving over to the other side of the ball to play defensive back with the Terps.
