TUF Season 23 Finale Odds – The UFC‘s reality series “The Ultimate Fighter” close season 23 with the finale this Friday, July 8th in Las Vegas.
The main event sees the women’s 115-lb UFC champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (11-0) taking on Claudia Gadelha (13-1) in a five-round bout that pits the two coaches from the Season 23 cast. The fight has certainly had a lot of hype and build-up, and Dana White famously stated that a fight between the two during the filming of the show got very heated. Jedrzejczyk has been lethal ever since winning the title, but she figures to face her toughest test to date in this one.
Will Brooks (17-1) is welcomed to the UFC after a successful run with Bellator that saw him hold their lightweight belt. Greeting Brooks on the way in is veteran Ross Pearson, who is looking to win a second fight in a row after alternating wins and losses for the past three years.
Several of the opening bouts feature veteran fighters that are trying to hang on the UFC roster. Now back at Lightweight, Gray Maynard finds himself in a fight where he is slightly favored over Fernando Bruno. Maynard, once a lightweight title contender and one of the more feared 155 lbers, has lost four in a row and is barely clinging to his contract. As for Bruno, this is his second UFC fight and he is 0-1 with the big show.
Also trying to stay on track is veteran flyweight John Moraga (16-4) as he takes on Matheus Nicolau Pereira. Moraga is coming off a layoff of more than a year, and he lost his last outing and needs a win to get back on track. Pereira is 1-0 in the UFC and making a big jump in competition level.
The TUF Finale is preceded on July 7th by UFC Fight Night 90 and on Saturday the UFC is hosting UFC 200. This is the biggest weekend in UFC history, with three cards in three nights. The UFC 200 line-up is without a doubt the most stacked card in the company’s history. However, the two shows that are preceding the show are solid shows with competitive lines from top to bottom.
