Tulane Green Wave – UCF Knights Preview – 03.02.2016

The UCF Knights (11-16) look to end their seven-game losing streak when they meet the Tulane Green Wave (10-19) at CFE Federal Credit Union Arena. The game begins at 7:00 pm ET on Wednesday, Mar. 2 and will air on ESW and ES3.

The Knights are hoping to rebound after their 63-61 loss to Temple on Saturday. Tacko Fall recorded 13 points and 14 rebounds, earning his second double-double of the year. The Green Wave, meanwhile, are coming off a deflating 74-53 loss against SMU on Sunday. Malik Morgan had a team-high 15 points.

Scoring chances at the line might be quite scarce for the Green Wave in this matchup. They are 308th in the nation in FTA rate (31.5), while UCF is among the nation’s least foul-prone teams (allowing a rate of just 24.7, ranking sixth in the country).

This will be the second matchup of the season between these two teams. The Knights won the first game 70-62. Daiquan Walker had a stellar game with 33 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal, and six three-pointers.

Over on the other bench, the Green Wave have records of 9-13-2 ATS and 10-19 SU. The Green Wave have been struggling of late. In their most recent 10 games, their scoring has dropped to 61.1 PPG, compared to 69.6 for the duration of the season.

Following the Knights’ latest win over Tulane, their SU record against Tulane moves to 9-1 over their most recent meetings. The Knights also hold the advantage ATS with a record of 8-1-1. Tulane held the advantage in field goals, rebounds, and three-pointers once in the last five matchups. On the other side of the court, UCF never accomplished this feat in that span.
