PSG (Fra) vs. Anderlecht (Bel)
Three-Way: 1: PSG -667; X: +1600 Draw; 2: Anderlecht +6125 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread -3.5: PSG +125; Anderlecht -115
Total +4.5: Over +117; Under -119
PSG
The Red and Blues are cruising to the knockout phase of the Champions League after three flawless victories, and it would be a miracle not to see them in the next stage. Following the last-minute equalizer from Edinson Cavani in Marseille that helped PSG to avoid a first defeat in this season, the Parisians beat Nice at home, thanks to Cavani’s first-half brace, and Dante’s own goal. They are at the top of the Ligue 1 with four points ahead of the reigning champions Monaco, and are also at the top of the UCL group B, with three points more than Bayern Munich.
PSG played 15 games so far in the 2017/18, recording 13 victories and two draws, while they are still without a loss in this campaign. They scored 49 and allowed just nine goals in return, which is almost 3.90 goals per contest on average, and I can see this clash as a potentially high-scoring affair. When it comes to matches at Parc des Princes, the Red and Blues won all seven and scored even 24 goals, so I will be surprised if they don’t score at least three here.
The Uruguayan forward Edinson Cavani is the team’s top scorer with 15 goals in 14 appearances, while Neymar is following him on a goal-scoring chart with ten goals to his name. The Brazilian is the best-assist maker in Paris with eight passes that directly led to a goal, while Kylian Mbappe and Adrien Rabiot combined for seven assists thus far. Unai Emery cannot count on the midfielder Thiago Motta who is out with a knee injury, but the rest of the squad is healthy and ready to go.
ANDERLECHT
The Belgian champions managed to bounce back after two consecutive defeats with wins over Waregem and Eupen, so they are now in the 3rd place in the Jupiler League, but the leaders Club Brugge are nine points ahead. However, the situation in the Champions League is a way worse as Anderlecht is currently at the bottom of the group with zero points and without a scored goal.
Anderlecht played 18 games in this campaign so far, recording nine wins, three draws, and six losses, with a goal difference of 23:27, which near to 2.8 goals per contest on average, so I expect this clash to be a high-scoring affair. One positive for the visitors is that they didn’t lose in the previous five away matches, but I don’t think that will mean something at Parc des Princes.
The loanee Henry Onyekuru is the team’s leading scorer with seven goals in 17 appearances, and if Ronald Koeman knew he would be in such a goal-scoring mood before he shipped him to Brussels, the Dutchman would keep him at Goodison Park and would still have a job. The Polish striker Lukasz Teodorczyk and Sofiane Hanni are behind Onyekuru with three goals apiece, but Hanni is the most creative player with four dishes thus far. Hein Vanhaezebrouck will be without centre-back Uros Spajic (ligament) and Kara (knee), while the right-back Andy Najar is still unavailable due to a hamstring injury.
PSG (Fra) vs. Anderlecht (Bel) – Match Prediction
I am absolutely sure that Anderlecht will go through the hell at Parc des Princes on Tuesday, and I almost feel sorry for them, but I think that they will manage to hold the hosts from winning with 3+ goals. Therefore, I would suggest taking the AH on the visitors.
MY PICK: Anderlecht +3.5 AH (-115)
Celtic (Sco) vs. Bayern Munich (Ger)
Three-Way: 1: Celtic +892; X: +490 Draw; 2: Bayern Munich -233 at BetDSI Sportsbook
Spread +1.5: Celtic -104; Bayern Munich +108
Total +3.5: Over +110; Under -119
CELTIC
The Scottish champions are hoping to beat the Germans and keep their dreams alive, but Bayers is a much better rival than any from the domestic Premiership, so I wouldn’t have high hopes if I were a Celtic fan. Celtic is at the top of the league without a loss and a point ahead of Aberdeen, but the last week’s 3-0 victory over them proved that Aberdeen is not a match to the Bhoys. They have theoretic chances to advance to the next stage of the Champions League, but a win over the Bavarians is a must, so I think the hosts will attack no matter what.
Celtic played 23 games in this season so far, recording 16 victories, four draws, and three losses, with a goal difference of 56:21, which is 3.35 goals per contest on average. When it comes to matches at home, the Hoops suffered just one defeat, and it was the massive one against PSG, 0-5 back in September. They played against Bayern at Celtic Park in the 2003/04 UEFA Champions League campaign, and it ended as a stalemate draw.
The English left-winger Scott Sinclair is the team’s top scorer with ten goals in 21 appearances, while Leigh Griffiths is following him with eight. James Forrest with seven, Callum McGregor with six, and Moussa Dembele with five are also big contributors to the attack. Griffiths is the best assist-maker with eight dishes; Sinclair recorded seven, while the Australian midfielder has six assists at the moment. Brandan Rodgers has defensive troubles as he cannot count on a trio of defenders Erik Sviatchenko (knee), Jozo Simunovic (Achilles tendon), and Anthony Ralston (knee).
BAYERN MUNICH
The German champions are playing much better after sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, as they are without a loss in the previous six matches, winning the last five and conceding just a goal in the process. Bayern advanced to the 1/8 finals of the domestic cup following a penalty shootout win at Leipzig, while they also regained the top spot in the Bundesliga with three points ahead of Dortmund. The Bavarians have six points from three games in the Champions League group B, and a victory in Glasgow will practically secure them a place in the knockout stage.
Bayern Munich played 16 games in the 2017/18 season, recording 12 wins, two draws, and two losses, with a goal difference of 40:13, which is a bit over 3.30 goal per contest on average. Both of those defeats came in away matches, so that is the encouraging sign for Celtic, who is known as a ruthless home team, but it’s going to be hard to beat one of the favorites for the UEFA Champions League trophy.
The amazing Polish striker Robert Lewandowski is the team’s leading scorer with 14 goals in 16 appearances, and he doesn’t have a real competition as his closest followers recorded only three goals thus far. The right-back Joshua Kimmich has been great when it comes to creating goals as he posted six assists to his name, while Arjen Robben added four dishes. Jupp Heynckes is not happy to be without Thomas Muller now when Lewandowski sustained a minor thigh injury, but hopefully, Lewy will be ready for Tuesday’s clash. Franck Ribery is sidelined until January, as well as Manuel Neuer, while the left-back Juan Bernat is not fit yet and will miss another few weeks.
Celtic (Sco) vs. Bayern Munich (Ger) – Match Prediction
Celtic knows to be intimidating when playing at own turf and I wouldn’t be surprised if they score a goal or two here, so that’s why I opted to go with OVER here. The visitors are the favorites and will likely get a win, but the goals should come as well.
MY PICK: Over 3.5 goals (+110)
