UFC 204 Bisping vs Henderson Odds – The UFC 204 pay-per-view comes to us this Saturday, October 8th from England’s Manchester Arena. The UFC has long been working the British market, and this marks a historic card because it is the first time a card in England has been headlined by a British UFC champion, as middleweight kingpin Michael “The Count” Bisping defends his belt for the first time against Dan Henderson.
Bisping accepted a title fight against Luke Rockhold on short notice and beat Rockhold by KO to take the belt with him. He had previously lost to Rockhold and after a decade with the UFC he was not really in the title picture when the opportunity finally came. Kudos to Bisping for making the most of it.
Now Henderson is no longer a legit contender at 46 years old and a 3-6 record in his last nine fights, but the match-up is compelling because of the history between the two men. Back in 2009 the two were rival coaches on the UFC’s “The Ultimate Fighter” reality series, and there is certainly no love lost between the two. After the spell on TV together, the two fought and Henderson famously knocked Bisping stiff with his big right hand. So kudos again to Bisping for taking a risk-filled fight in order to “avenge” a prior loss.
The co-feature also comes at middleweight and it features two of the division’s most mercurial fighters. Belfort is now 39 years old and certainly he is nearing the end. He was stopped in his last outing back in May when he faced Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza and he has dropped two of three. A win here for Mousasi would give him a third UFC win in a row, his best streak with the company to date.
Hard hitting Brit Jimi Manuwa returns as he tries to right the ship and score a win over Ovince St Preaux. Manuwa is 15-2 overall with losses to Anthony Johnson and Alexander Gustafsson, so there is hope that he will continue to develop. He is not there yet. This is St Preaux first fight back since he went five rounds with Jon Jones back in April. He has UFC losses against Ryan Bader and Glover Teixeira, so he too has not been able to break through with a win against the top shelf.
The last of the main card fights sees heavyweights Stefan Struve (27-8) and Daniel Omielamczuk (19-5-1) square off. Omielanczuk has put together a solid three fight winning streak in the UFC and he is 4-2 overall with the company. Stuve’s history with the UFC is much deeper and he has had major ups and downs in his career. Here Struve is looking to win a second fight in a row for the first time since September of 2012, when he beat Stipe Miocic by TKO. Miocic now holds the coveted UFC heavyweight title.
