UFC 209 Main Card Odds For Saturday PPV – The UFC 209 pay-per-view comes to us this Saturday night live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The card is topped by two world title fights, both of which are very competitive.
The welterweight title bout between champion Tyron Woodley and challenger Stephen Thompson is a rematch since the two fought to a five round draw this past November at the UFC 205. Prior to that match Thompson, who goes by the nickname “Wonder Boy,” had a strong seven-fight winning streak that saw him KO former champion Johny Hendricks and outlast perennial contender Rory MacDonald. Woodley had won two fights in a row when he got his shot at then UFC welterweight champion Robbie Lawler and he made the most of it, knocking Lawler out in under three minutes. For his first title defense, he faced Thompson in a match that saw Woodley enter as the underdog at +170, with Thompson paying back at -200. The line is tighter this time around as we enter fight week, but Woodley is still coming in as the underdog.
One thing is for sure, the lightweight encounter for the “interim” belt between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov fight is going to be tense. Nurmagomedov has been hampered by the injury bug, but he went 2-0 in 2016 after a layoff of more than two years. Known as “The Eagle.” he is now a perfect 24-0 in MMA and back in April of 2014 when he defeated Rafael dos Anjos, he believed himself to be the number one contender for the UFC lightweight title. He has come back for two fights which he won handily, but the match for the official title against Conor McGregor is not going to materialize any time soon.
Ferguson, too, was waiting on a title shot at McGregor. Ferguson has reeled off a gaudy nine-fight winning streak in the UFC. He netted five fights in the same time period that Nurmagomedov was nursing his injuries and he is probably the hottest fighter on the UFC roster right now. Both Ferguson and Nurmagomedov have to feel they should be fighting McGregor, which has become the most lucrative paycheck in the company. Fighting each other for a fraction must seem like much harder work.

Heavyweight Mark Hunt is back taking on Alistair Overeem in a fight that sees Overeem trying to bounce back from his loss to Stipe Miocic. Hunt’s last outing saw him lose to Brock Lesnar and then Lesnar tested positive for steroids, setting off a slew of anti-UFC vitriol and a lawsuit from Hunt, but he appears to be back in the fold. Also on the card is former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans, who is returning to 205 pounds after a flirtation with the middleweight division.
