A Wealth of Polish Talented To Be Highlighted On UFC Fight Night 64 Undercard

The UFC Fight Night 64 this Saturday marks the UFC’s debut in Poland, and the entire card will be available on the UFC.TV site in the afternoon to account for the time difference.  The card is headlined by heavyweights Mirko “CroCop” Filipovic as he faces Gabriel Gonzaga in a rematch.

This UFC is one of several recent cards that have two women’s fights scheduled.  with the recent crowning of women’s strawweight champion Joanna Jedrrzejczyk, who hails from Poland, it is a sign that the Eastern Europeans are beginning to come forth and make an impact on the world scene.

The main card women’s bout features American veteran Joanne Calderwood as she takes on undefeated Maryna Moroz (5-0) of the Ukraine and on the undercard Poland’s Izabela Badurek faces Russia’s Aleksandra Albu.

Several of the fights have been shuffled with injured fighters replaced, showing some additional further depth in the european talent pool.  At lightweight, Sergio Moraes was originally slated to face Gasan Umalatov, but will now face France’s Mickael Lebout.  The first fight of the night was also recently added as Bantamweight Yaotzin Mesa of Arizona faces Poland’s Damian Stasiak.  Stasiak is making his promotional debut, while Meza has gone 1-2 with an additional “No Contest” in the UFC and badly needs a win here.
