The UFC is in Germany this Saturday with a card that features a ladies’ strawweight title defense as the main event as champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends her belt against the challenge of Jessica Penne. The card was originally scheduled to have a headline fight of light heavyweights Alexander Gustafsson and Glover Teixeira, but that match was cancelled due to an injury to Gustafsson.
The main event was not the only fight lost as the card has suffered a lot of attrition and last minute replacements. That, and the UFC’s heavy reliance on lesser known European talent to fill out this card have the sport books releasing odds for just four of the main card fights. Expect the odds for the complete UFC card to be up by late Tuesday or Wednesday, as it is unusual that a UFC card does not have all the odds posted a week before the fight. Perhaps there may be some value to be found if you are familiar with some of the European talent on the card.
The co-main event features two fighters that are definitely well know as veterans Dennis Siver and Tatsuya Kawajiri meet in a featherweight bout that sees both men enter the fight coming off losses. Siver has the advantage of fighting in front of his hometown crowd in Germany while Kawajiri has a long trip to make, but Kawajiri is a battle-tested veteran who has been through many ring wars. At 37 years old, he is looking to put together a winning streak in the UFC as an exclamation point to a terrific career.
In this latest video blog, we review the lines that are up for the four main card fights of UFC Fight Night 69.
