The UFC Fight Night 75 card set for Tokyo this Saturday features a heavyweight main event between Josh Barnett and Roy Nelson. The match has been set for months as both men were coaches on opposite sides of a UFC reality series that aired in Japan, and the match sees both in desperate need of a win.
For Barnett, this match is a return after a long layoff of roughly 18 months. In his last outing, he was stopped by Travis Browne, but that was a short stoppage and Barnett still sees himself as potentially impacting the UFC’s Heavyweight title scene. It’s been more than a dozen years since Barnett held the UFC Heavyweight title, but with the belt now in the hands of Fabricio Werdum, who is two years older than Barnett, the “Warmaster” needs a win over Nelson to get back on track.

The popular Nelson needs a win just because he has gone 1-4 in his last five fights. What is more, he has looked like he has really slowed up, missing a lot of punches and absorbing a lot of punishment in some of those recent outings. This bout is scheduled for a five rounds, and the sturdy Nelson is known for taking fights deep, so there may be value in the over/under betting for this one.
The co-main event features middleweights as Gegard Mousasi is taking on late replacement Uriah Hall, who stepped in for Joan Carneiro.
