Saturday’s UFC Fight Night Main Card Odds

This Saturday in Rio de Janeiro, welterweights Demian Maia and Ryan LaFlare clash in the main event of UFC Fight Night 62.  Maia is hoping for a return to contention after battling shoulder problems for the last year, while the undefeated LaFlare is stepping up in competition level.  A road win for LaFlare against Maia would surely get him some attention.

Josh Koscheck returns on short turn-around time to face Erick Silva in the co-main event.  Koscheck has lost four fights in a row, including his last outing on Feb. 28.  Silva has spent his entire UFC career alternating wins and losses and badly needs a win to snap that streak.

Two fights on the main card are in the lightweight division as Tony Martin faces Leonardo Santos and Gilbert Burns takes on Alex Oliveira. The Burns and Oliveira fight is getting all the attention, as Martin is a late replacement and he is facing the methodical veteran in Santos.  Burns is undefeated at 9-0 as he faces Oliveira, who is making his UFC debut but comes with a solid 10-1-1 overall mark.

In the women’s bantamweight division, Amanda Nunes faces Shanya Bazler.  Nunes is coming off a loss to Cat Zingano, while Bazler has dropped three of her last four.  At Featherweight, Andre Fili faces Godofredo Castro in aifght that sees Godofredo have the edge in UFC experience.
