UFN 110 Odds for Saturday Night – New Zealand is the place for the UFC’s Ultimate Fight Night 110 card and it might be expected the card features a lot of talent from “down under” and beyond.
Heavyweights sit in the main event as New Zealander Mark Hunt takes on hard hitting Derrick Lewis in a fight that is expected to be a slug fest. Hunt is nearing the end of his career at 43 years old and here he is getting to headline at home and add to his bank account. Hunt has a well-earned reputation as a guy who can take a lot of punishment and he has continued to fight wars in his last few outings. Hunt was furious after his fight with pro wrestling star Brock Lesnar as his loss was overturned to a no-contest because of Lesnar’s positive steroid test. Hunt went so far as to sue the UFC, but he returned to appear in the octagon this past March when he lost to Alistair Overeem. In Lewis, he is not getting an easy fight.
Lewis seems to have found his groove in the UFC as he has put together a strong six-fight winning streak that has seen him score knockouts in five of those victories. A win against Hunt would give Lewis his tenth win in the UFC and an overall record of 10-3 with the big show. A win here may not be enough to get Lewis a title shot yet, but he will start to put himself in the conversation. In his last fight he stopped Travis Browne, and a win over Hunt would give him two in a row over former title contenders. Lewis will take another step up the ladder towards title contention with a win.
Australian middleweight Daniel Kelly will be looking to improve on his four-fight UFC winning streak as he faces tough wrestler Derek Brunson. In his last outing, Kelly won a split decision over former lightweight champion Rashad Evans, but it is hard to say what Evans has left at this point in his career. Brunson is considered a test for Kelly because he still brings top-notch athletic ability to the table.
Brunson enters the fight in need of a win as he has dropped two fights in a row and three-fight losing streaks usually mean a pink slip with the UFC. Brunson has faced a lot higher level of competition than Kelly. His third fight came against divisional top dog Yoel Romero and in his last fight he faced none other than legendary former champion Anderson Silva. Though it is a long trip to New Zealand, Brunson goes in there with a lot of experience and his back to the wall. Should make for an interesting tussle.
