Two of the MWC’s early-season standout players will take the field, as Chuckie Keeton and the Utah State Aggies travel to Bulldog Stadium to meet Zack Greenlee and the Fresno State Bulldogs. The Bulldogs currently hold a 1-4 record, and the Aggies have gone 2-2. Players will take the field Saturday, Oct 10 at 10:30 p.m. ET and the game will air on CBSS.
Fresno State fell to San Diego State 21-7 last week. KeeSean Johnson had a good game in the loss, registering five receptions for 35 yards and one TD. Utah State is hoping for another victory like last week’s performance, when it beat Colorado State 33-18. Kent Myers had a solid game throwing the ball for the Aggies, completing 12 of 21 passes for 137 yards and one TD. He added 191 yards and a TD on 16 attempts. Hunter Sharp finished with 63 receiving yards and a TD on four receptions.
The Bulldogs, a 10-point underdog, will be looking to defend their home field when Utah State comes to town.
The Bulldogs enter the game with a record of 1-4 Straight Up (SU) and Against The Spread (ATS) this season. Fresno State will have the upper hand when attempting to shut down the passing game. Utah State averages only 10.1 yards per pass, ranking 118th in the country. Mistakes and a lack of focus may be factors that benefit the Bulldogs in the game. The Aggies are one of the most penalized teams in the nation with 8.5 flags per game.
Across the field, the Aggies have a record of 2-2 for both ATS and SU. The Utah State defense has allowed just 107.5 yards per game this season, 20th in the nation. If the Bulldogs aren’t careful with ball security against Utah State’s defense, they are going to be in some trouble. That defense has recovered the 18th-most fumbles on the season with one per game.
Predictions: SU Winner – Utah State, ATS Winner – Utah State
