Video Blog: Combat Sports Betting Results

This weekend was jam packed with MMA and boxing action. In this ongoing blog series, our MMA expert Miguel Iturrate took out five bets from his fictitious bank.  Four bets came from the MMA action that included two UFC events and a World Series of Fighting show, and one bet on the boxing action from the weekend.

In boxing, laying the juice on Amir Khan looks like a no-brainer in retrospect, as Khan has been focused on getting himself into the upper echelon of fights in 2015. He is reported to have moved his training camp to peaceful northern California, and his showing this weekend against Devon Alexander showed the benefits.  He looked fast, and he outclassed a very good fighter in Alexander.

In MMA, the Friday night ‘The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale’ saw Carla Esparza emerge as the inaugural UFC women’s Strawweight Champion as she submitted upstart Rose Namajunas in the third round.   Esparza was the number one seed throughout the sixteen week TV series, but incredibly, Namajunas came in as the betting favorite.  Esparza as an underdog seemed like easy money, and it was.  Check out the results of the rest of the bets in our latest video:
