Video Blog: UFC Fight Night 61 Under Card Odds

The UFC Fight Night 61 event this Sunday in Brazil is highlighted by a heavyweight fight between Frank Mir and Antonio Silva.  Lines for the full card are up, with over/under so we are ready to go.

As usual for a Brazil UFC, the card features a lot of local talent facing off against imported competition.  Since the UFC ramped up their Brazilian calendar, it has been hard to win on the road.  If a non-Brazilian is making his first fight overseas, the long trip and overall wear on body and mind that goes with that could work against him in the ring.  Likewise, even a loss yields valuable experience.  And the fact is, that though Brazilians dominated many of the early events, that foreigners have started to score wins on Brazilian cards, from the main events through the undercard.

For this upcoming UFC, the lines are varied on the undercard, with the lines favoring Brazilians in some cases, but in others the foreign fighter is a pretty heavy favorite.  Or maybe the line makers are missing things, as Cody Gibson is a solid (-255) favorite over his Brazilian foe Douglas Andrade, despite being (1-2) in his last 3 outings and Andrade’s fine (22-1) record.  Andrade’s one loss was in his last outing, which was his UFC debut, and now that he has gotten his feet wet, may have underdog value.  Another foreigner coming up a favorite is undefeated Sean Spencer, who faces Santiago Pozinibbio.
