Video Blog: Weekend Combat Sports Betting Results, Including Crawford vs. Beltran

With no UFC and no Bellator, our Combat Sports Betting for the weekend of Nov. 29 was centered on the sweet science of boxing.  Our veteran blogger Miguel Iturrate risked $1,300 from his bank on three bets and came back (2-1) overall.

This Saturday saw the UK hosting one of the most highly anticipated boxing cards of the year as heavyweight Tyson Fury fought a rematch against rival Dereck Chisora in a fight that was labelled a ‘title eliminator’.  Fury was nearly a 3-to-1 favorite heading into the fight, and he didn’t disappoint as he earned the stop in the 10th after leading throughout the fight.

At middleweight, the match between Billy Joe Saunders and Chris Eubank, Jr. was a lot tighter at the books, with Billy Joe closing as a (-125) favorite.  Saunders paid off as he took the match by split decision after banking a lot of early rounds and sustaining a fierce comeback from Eubank.

The final fight we took a look at was Terence Crawford’s WBO world lightweight title defense against Raymundo Beltran.  Beltran was a big underdog going in, and though he provided a spirited attempt throughout the fight, he came up short on the judges scorecards by a wide margin.  This will apparently serve as Crawford’s final fight at Lightweight as he seeks competition at light welterweight next.
