Video Blog: All Women’s MMA Odds For Tonight

Tonight, deep in heart of Texas, Invicta 10 brings its all women’s MMA promotion with a card headlined by Atomweights Michelle Waterson and Herica Tiburcio.  Right now at the books, Waterson is a heavy (-600) favorite to retain her belt over Tiburcio, who returns at (+400).

The rise of women’s combat sports in general on a worldwide level is impressive, as both boxing and MMA have developed into very competitive outlets for women fighters. The sportbooks have been slow to respond, as they miss a lot of lines on women’s boxing, including lines for world title fights.  In MMA, however, the books seem to be further along when it comes to keeping an eye on the ladies side of the sport.  Of the 10 fights on Invicta’s offering, the books have lines up for six of those.

Invicta is also worth watching in terms of they have a contract with the UFC for distribution, and it is commonly accepted that the UFC will eventually follow the model they established with the old WEC group, and that is let the weight classes develop under INVICTA and roll them into the UFC when they are ready.  That time is probably getting very close.

In this latest blog, our veteran MMA expert Miguel Iturrate reviews the lines for the six fights posted for Invicta 10.  Remember, the fight card can be seen with the UFC Fight Pass, and the Invicta shows are always well worth watching:
