Video: Buzz Williams Coaches Fan On Free-Throws During A Timeout

Buzz Williams: everyone's coach apparently. (Photo: Matt Gentry - Roanoke Times)

If you didn’t know by now, first-year Virginia Tech coach Buzz Williams kinda does what he wants, because well, he can’t help himself.

His personality was on full display during the Hokies’ second-round ACC tournament matchup against Miami on Wednesday. During a timeout, and with his team down by just one point, Williams took it upon himself to go and coach up a fan who was competing in some sort of free-throw competition during the break.

Keep in mind that this obvioulsly was not during an exhibition game, or even a blowout, but a closely-contested game in a postseason tournament.

None of this mattered to Williams, as clearly his concern was this young fan winning whatever the heck she was trying to win.

Take note of the extreme focus and concern one more time.

"You form is poor, but the effort is clearly there."

The Hokies would of course go on to lose, but Williams certainly gifted us with perhaps the funniest moment of the postseason so far, and for that we are thankful.
