Florida State University may have to ban its quarterbacks from going out in public. It’s just been a little over two weeks since Seminoles’ spring-game star De’Andre Johnson was first suspended indefinitely after “allegedly” punching a woman in a bar. I put “allegedly” in quotes, because the Florida State Attorney’s office released the surveillance video of the incident, which you can watch below.
As always, WARNING, there is a pretty serious punch in there so know that before you click “play.”

Johnson was charged with misdemeanor battery after the incident and kicked off the team. With the video released now, it’s not likely he’ll be invited back.
As for Johnson’s future in college football, it all might depend on how a school interprets the video. The woman obviously threatened Johnson first, then punched him. He punched her back. My guess is he ends up at NCAA Division II North Alabama like every other FSU cast-off.
According to reports, the woman, a fellow FSU student, suffered multiple injuries to her face as should be obvious. Johnson turned himself in and was released on a $500 bond.
Johnson was a three-star recruit this last offseason who enrolled early and played in the spring game, completing two touchdown passes.
