An inbounds play with a fraction of a second left on the shot clock? Not a problem apparently if you are Utah Forward Trevor Booker.
Booker hit an incredible circus shot against the Thunder during the 2nd quarter Friday night in Oklahoma City.
With 0.2 seconds left on the shot clock and about a minute left in the first half, the Jazz needed a quick tip to get a legal shot off. Most teams usually opt for an alley-oop tip near the basket, but Booker decided to go for the unstoppable reverse-granny-hot-potato shot instead. Gordon Hayward inbounded the ball to Booker in the post and Booker swatted it back over his head with both hands and into the basket for his first two points of the game, much to the dismay of the home crowd, announcers, teammates, and well, everyone else watching near and far.
Booker’s expression afterwards says it all.
The shot actually ended up being somewhat significant in a closely contested game that the Thunder won by a score of 99-94, snapping a two-game losing streak by 20 points or more in each. Hayward later said he only threw it into Booker so to avoid a possible live-ball turnover that would result in an easy fastbreak opportunity for the Thunder.
Just like they drew it up.
