Weekend Combat Sports Betting Blog

This coming weekend is big for Combat Sports, as both Boxing and MMA have full calendars.

On Friday, April 10th, big time MMA hits the airwaves as Bellator airs Bellator 136 on SPIKETV and the WSOF 20 event airs on NBC.  The boxing world is not to be left out, as ESPN2 airs the semi-final round of their “Boxcino” tournament series that started back in February.

On Saturday, the Ultimate Fighting Championships takes their road show to Poland for the first time with a fight card headlined by Mirko Cro-Cop and Gabriel Gonzaga.  The boxing world has fights all over the place, but none bigger than the “Premier Boxing Champions” broadcast that aris on NBC from the Barclay’s Center.  That card features a main event of Danny Garcia vs Lamont Peterson and is supported by Peter Quillin vs Andy Lee for the WBO Middleweight title.  In Puerto Rico, all eyes will be on Mexican Orlando Salido as he faces Roman Martinez defending his WBO World Super Featherweight title.  In both Lee and Salido, you are seeing two fighters who are experiencing late success, as Lee attained the world championship after toiling for many years, while Salido rose back to prominence with his stoppages of Puerto Rico’s Juan Manuel Lopez.  Russia, Argentina and England all have boxing cards that are getting attention at the sport books.

Here is our latest video, where veteran MMA expert Miguel Iturrate takes out six bets to try to right the ship with our fictitious bank.

Miguel Iturrate started in the MMA business in the crazy early days of the mid-nineties. He has match-made more than 100 MMA events in Japan, Brazil, Russia and all over the United States, and played an integral role in MMA’s early modern history. Through Hook 'n' Shoot, Florida’s AFC, the Euphoria shows and bodogfight, Iturrate has left an indelible mark on MMA history. He can also lay claim to a record that not even the UFC can by contracting 36 fights in three days.
