Winnipeg Jets vs. St. Louis Blues Odds

Winnipeg is 12-9 straight up (SU) and has earned moneyline bettors 1.0 unit this season. 10 of its outings have gone under the total, while seven have gone over and just three have pushed. The Jets are 4-5 SU on the road in 2018-19.

Winnipeg enters the match up with the third-best power-play unit in the NHL, as it’s converted on 31.3 percent of its extra-man advantages this season. On the other hand, it has the sixth-strongest penalty kill in the league, and the team’s successfully killed off 82.2 percent of all penalties.

Winnipeg, as a collective unit, has been penalized 4.5 times per game overall this season, 4.0 per game over its past five matchups total, and 4.8 per game over its last five on the road. The team’s had to kill penalties 8.6 minutes per game over their last five outings.

With a .910 save percentage and 27.8 saves per game, Connor Hellebuyck (9-8-1) has been the top option in goal for Winnipeg this season. Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele will both look to continue their strong seasons for the visiting Jets. Wheeler (25 points) is up to three goals and 22 assists, and has recorded multiple points six times. Scheifele has 11 goals and 12 assists to his credit, and has logged at least one point in 14 games.

On the other side of the rink, St. Louis is 8-13 straight up (SU) and has lost 8.1 units for moneyline bettors this year. Through 21 regular season matches, 11 of its games have gone under the total, while eight have gone over and just one has pushed. It’s 6-7 SU at home this year.

St. Louis has converted on 22.2 percent of its power play opportunities this season, a figure that’s right around league average. On the other hand, its penalty kill is ranked 13th overall, and it’s successfully killed off 81.3 percent of all opponent power plays.

St. Louis players have been whistled for penalties 3.8 times per game this season, 3.4 per game over their past five contests total, and 3.8 per game over their last five at home. The team has had to stave off opponent power plays just 8.3 minutes per game over their last 10 outings.

Jake Allen (26.9 saves per game) has been the top selection in goal for St. Louis. Allen has six wins, 10 losses, and three OT losses to his name and has recorded a poor .898 save percentage and 3.22 goals against average this year.

Ryan O’Reilly (11 goals, 14 assists) will lead the offensive attack for STL.
