The Wisconsin Badgers want Bama. Wisconsin announced that it had agreed to a home and home deal with Alabama starting in 2024. Their fans have been elated since the agreement was announced, as the Badgers will have the chance to take on college football’s preeminent dynasty.

Wisconsin is looking to make a name for itself, and there’s no better way to do that than by beating the program that has won five of the last 10 national championships. Alabama has ruled the college football roost over the last decade, and a win over the Crimson Tide would be huge for both the Badgers and the Big Ten. Alabama is 6-1 against the Big Ten since Nick Saban took over in Tuscaloosa, and they are always one of the favorites to win it all.
The first game in the two-game series will be in Camp Randall Stadium on September 14, 2024, and the second game will be in Bryant-Denny Stadium on September 13, 2025.
These two schools have some recent history. Wisconsin and Alabama met in the season opener in Arlington, Texas back in 2015. The Badgers stood toe to toe with the Crimson Tide for a full half before Alabama pulled away to earn a 35-17 win.
This is the latest in a series of home and home agreements for Wisconsin. The Badgers will face Notre Dame in 2020 and 2021, Washington State in 2022 and 2023, Pittsburgh in 2026 and 2027, UCLA in 2029 and 2030, and Virginia Tech in 2031 and 2032.
Those deals fall in line with the Big Ten’s recent calls to play 10 games against Power Five schools each season. The conference has already instituted a policy where members are not allowed to play FCS opponents, and commissioner Jim Delany and others have tried to lead the charge to get all major conferences to play just two games against smaller schools each season.
