Women Take Over WWE; Lynch, Flair and Rousey Close WrestleMania

It’s never happened before. Since WrestleMania originated 35 years ago, no women’s match has closed out the show as its Main Event. That all changes April 7 when Becky Lynch, Ronda Rousey and Charlotte Flair face off in a Triple Threat Match for the RAW Women’s Title.

The women have knocked Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins or Daniel Bryan vs Kofi Kingston from the top of the marquee for good reason. They’re the biggest thing in the show right now.

Rousey has made her complete transition from the UFC to the WWE with a heel turn along the way. Flair, of course, is the daughter for WWE Hall of Famer Rick Flair, but there probably is no bigger star in the match or in wrestling right now than Lynch, or as she likes to call herself, “The Man.”

Just a few months ago, Lynch was involved in one of the most viral and dramatic moments in WWE history. During the Nov. 13 episode of RAW, an all-out battle between the promotion’s female stars caused some real damage when Lynch took a legit shot in the face. Her nose was busted open and she ended up suffering a concussion, but for TV and the internet, the entire thing was gold. Lynch, with her attitude and performance, bloodied up, became a the face of the WWE right there.

The camera crew and director there should win some awards.

Closing out WrestleMania as the Main Event is a historic moment these women earned the hard way, with blood, good shows and hard work.

WrestleMania is going down April 7 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. It’ll be broadcast all over the world on Pay-Per-View.
