Worldwide Boxing Odds – The sport books have posted a handful of odds for international boxing for March 18th and 19th.
Many of the bouts feature regional action and are hoping to attract local betting action, as the lines are not very competitive. The most important fight on the board sees WBA and IBO World Minimumweight champion Hekkie Budler (29 wins, 1 loss) takes on Byron Rojas (16 wins, 2 losses, 3 draws).
Minimumweight 12 rounds – Emperors Palace – Gauteng, South Africa
Byron Rojas +1400
Hekkie Budler -3600
Budler is the fighter to watch in this one. Most casual fans pay no heed to the lower weight classes in boxing, but if you are a fan of the sport, the weight classes offer a great deal. Budler is a bit of an unknown, but the speed, quickness and technique that he has makes him a fun and exciting fighter to watch. Rojas, out of Nicaragua, is on a strong 10-fight winning streak. It is a long trip to South Africa from Nicaragua, and this is Rojas’ first fight abroad.

Worldwide Boxing Odds
Lightweight 12 – Espoon Metro Arena – Espoo, Finland
Massimiliano Ballisai +1600
Edis Tatli -4800
Tatli has 26 wins and just 1 loss, and he will be defending his EBU Lightweight title belt. Ballisai has 20 wins and 2 losses to his record, and this is the first time he will be fighting outside of his native Italy. Tatli’s resume is built up on fights in Finland, but his win over Yvan Mendy of France to win the EBU title last April was a solid win.
The women’s title fight between Eva Wahlstroem and Dahiana Santana that sees Wahlstroem defending her WBC World title at Super Featherweight may pop up later at the sport books as well.
Heavyweight 10 rounds – Circus – Bucharest, Romania
Michael Sprott +1150
Christian Hammer -2450
Christian Hammer had been a marginal heavyweight, but with the recent shake-up in the division, his 11 wins in his last 12 fights look good. Throw in that the lone loss was to Tyson Fury, and Hammer will start to think of himself on the next level. Here he is bringing in the veteran (42 wins, 25 losses) Sprott to make him look good. Sprott is from England, and he is a respected veteran who has been in there with everyone. The problem with Sprott is that his best days were last seen in 2013 when he won a “Prizefighter” tournament. Entering this fight, Sprott has lost three fights in a row, all by KO.
Cruiserweight 12 rounds – MusikTeatret – Albertslund, Denmark
Mirko Larghetti +600
Micki Nielsen -1200
This is perhaps the most interesting bout of the night, as the undefeated Micki Nielsen (20-0) faces the challenge of Mirko Larhetti (24 wins, 1 loss) with his WBC International Cruiserweight title on the line. Nielen is young at 23 years of age, and though he is undefeated, his potential is still unknown because he never fights outside of Denmark. Larghetti, with 24 wins and 1 loss to his resume is the best opposition Neilsen has faced by far. The lone loss on Larghetti’s resume came over 12 round via unanimous decision to WBO World Champion Marco Huck. Despite that, Larghetti’s resume still consists largely of six round bouts.
