WWE Power Rankings, Week of 7.3.17

Welcome back to the weekly Get More Sports WWE Power Rankings, where we rank the top 25 WWE Superstars based on their impact, performance, and momentum. This week headlined by the Great Balls of Fire Pay-Per-View, a championship match on NXT, and the return of John Cena.

  1. Big Cass (+1)
After turning on his tag team partner Enzo Amore, Big Cass did exactly what he wanted to do when he destroyed Amore in just a few minutes. Cass is very quickly making himself someone to look out for, and he has his sights set on the Universal Championship.
  2. Samoa Joe (-1)
Even though Samoa Joe lost to Brock Lesnar in their Universal Championship match, Joe came out looking like a huge threat to the Beast Incarnate. Joe says that Lesnar only escaped him, and it seems to be that way.
  3. Roman Reigns (-)
The biggest story coming out of Sunday’s Pay-Per-View was Roman Reigns crushing an ambulance with Braun Strowman inside. Reigns lost the Ambulance Match, but he seemed to have come out of the night on top.
  4. Neville (-)
The King of the Cruiserweights had a great week. On Raw, he forced Mustafa Ali to tap out, did the same with Lince Dorado on 205 Live, then retained the Cruiserweight Championship against Akira Tozawa.
  5. AJ Styles (-)
To kick off SmackDown Live, AJ Styles defeated Chad Gable to enter the Independence Day Battle Royal. Styles then won the Independence Day Battle Royal to face Kevin Owens at Battleground for the United States Championship. Instead of waiting for July 23, Styles shocked the world by capturing the title at Madison Square Garden on Friday.
  6. The Miz (+1)
Using his new Miztourage (Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas), The Miz played the numbers game against Dean Ambrose to successfully retain the Intercontinental Championship yet again.
  7. Braun Strowman (-2)
On Raw, Braun Strowman had an incredibly impressive win over Titus Worldwide’s Apollo Crews. Strowman then won the Ambulance Match against Roman Reigns even though he got destroyed after.
  8. Sasha Banks (+1)
Following her #1 Contender’s win last week, Sasha Banks scored two wins over Alexa Bliss this week. First, she made the champion tap out in what was essentially a handicap match, then she won the Raw Women’s Championship match by count-out.
  9. Bobby Roode (-)
In the main event of NXT this week, Bobby Roode defended his NXT Championship in a very personal match against Roderick Strong. Roode proved how much of a jerk he is by taunting Strong’s family while also showing his true talent to stay champion.
  10. Sheamus & Cesaro (-)
In some of the smartest wrestling WWE has displayed in some time, Sheamus & Cesaro retained the Raw Tag Team Championships in the first-ever Tag Team Iron Man Match against the Hardy Boyz.
  11. Brock Lesnar (-)
After weeks of getting attacked by Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar managed to topple the Samoan Submission Machine, keeping his Universal Championship with a single F5.
  12. The New Day (+8)
In their Rap Battle with the Usos this week, some might say the Usos had the better material and should have won. However, the Usos got disqualified so The New Day won by default.
  13. Seth Rollins (+4)
On Raw, Seth Rollins did the unthinkable when he defeated Curt Hawkins. At Great Balls of Fire, he lost to Bray Wyatt, but only after getting poked in the eye.
  14. Bray Wyatt (-)
No one expected Bray Wyatt to defeat Seth Rollins, with or without dirty tactics. The Eater of Worlds managed to take out the Kingslayer and help his claim of being a God, kind of.
  15. Naomi (-1)
In yet another SmackDown Women’s Championship defense against Lana, Naomi retained the belt in about 10 seconds. She has continued to prove herself as a fighting champion.
  16. John Cena (-)
It is always a big moment when John Cena returns to WWE because he is perhaps the greatest WWE Superstar of all-time. Cena returned with his Patriot hat on to set up a Flag Match against Rusev for Battleground.
  17. Finn Balor (-7)
While Finn Balor didn’t compete at the Pay-Per-View, he did impress on Raw. In a great match against one-half of the Tag Team Champions, Balor scored a victory over Cesaro.
  18. Aiden English (-)
On SmackDown Live, Aiden English defeated former World Champion Randy Orton. Even though it was by disqualification, a win is a win and English can always brag about that.
  19. Cedric Alexander (-)
In another match against Noam Dar, Cedric Alexander finishes things pretty quickly when he hits the Scottish Supernova with the Lumbar Check.
  20. Enzo Amore (-)
While he may have lost at Great Balls of Fire, Enzo Amore has been cutting great promos week in and week out to get the WWE Universe behind him. This week, he did that on Raw and right before his match against Big Cass.
  21. Rich Swann (-)
To main event 205 Live, Rich Swann had a great match against TJP. Both men were evenly matched, but Swann escaped with the win after an exchange of pinning combinations.
  22. Killian Dain & Alexander Wolfe (-)
SAnitY has been pretty hit or miss since their debut, but they have constantly found tag team success. Killian Dain and Alexander Wolfe defeated two great competitors in Kassius Ohno and Hideo Itami this week.
  23. R-Truth (-)
Last week, Goldust attacked R-Truth before they could have a match. This week, R-Truth returned the favor by attacking Goldust to spoil the “Shattered Truth” premiere.
  24. The Usos (+0)
In the rap battle against the New Day, The Usos had some brutal lines that hit home a little too hard (the R-Rated line about Xavier Woods, for example). It seemed like they had the battle in the bag, but they got physical with the New Day and judge Wale immediately called for the disqualification.
  25. Heath Slater (-)
On Raw, Slater challenged the Miz for the Intercontinental Championship but came up short when his former Social Outcast allies played the numbers game against him. He then competed against Curt Hawkins at Great Balls of Fire, which was his first singles match victory on a Pay-Per-View in his entire WWE career.
